In early September 2008, a rag-tag, smelly old road warrior was delivered to a pound in Southwestern Ontario.  Destined for euthanasia, he would cross the Bridge alone, with no one to mourn him.

Several hundred kilometres away, a fledgling organization was forming and this old fellow was destined to be the first test of the group’s resolve.  Flying e-mails, urgency in text, trying to put the pieces together, a heart-pounding initiation.

On September 22, 2008 at 7AM, the mangy dog with the gravely bark was whisked out of the pound and the Zeus Express was on its way.  All who helped him loved him, even though they didn’t really know him -  they just had faith.

On April 15, 2009, at 9PM, barely seven months later, this beautiful dog with the gravely bark, became a St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog.

Who knew --  You did KRO.  Thank you to all, in particular to Ardis, Sarah, Joyce, Alecia, Dee Dee, Serena, Mom, & Magen.  I will make you proud!!
